Introduction

Neuroscience Unit (NSU), led by Prof. Carlson, studies brain functions in both adults and children. Research covers issues related to sensory processing, attention and working memory and also aims at understanding brain mechanisms related to abnormal brain functions such as eating disorders and deficits in attention, learning and memory.

NSU is part of a National Center of Excellence (Systems Neuroscience and Neuroimaging Research, director Prof. Riitta Hari).
